Newark Bay Bridge Route 440 Realignment with Tishman Construction

The Route 440 Realignment project was part of the New Jersey Turnpike’s series of work orders addressing protection of critical infrastructure in New Jersey and affecting Manhattan. IEW Construction was tasked with strengthening piers beneath the Newark Bay Bridge and installing gates to prevent access to the area. Route 440 to was shifted and realigned in order to allow room for the improvements and to keep traffic away from the piers.
